Shinjuku + Harajuku

went on a Tokyo + Los Angeles  trip last week..
what excites me was the Tokyo stay. despite so many Tokyo trips, it was always the one night stay at the hotel near the Narita airport, thus i never had chance to go to Shinjuku or Harajuku.

luckily for this trip, i had a chance to stay over at Shinjuku area, and the hotel was walking distance to the Shinjuku shopping streets.
since it was my first time having 1.5 clear days there, i decided to spend a day at DisneySea (will blog bout that next time) and the next half day shopping in Harajuku.

saw this machine with loads of Rilakkuma, and i HAD to have a go a it. had 3 tries, couldnt catch any so i gave up.
:(

nearing the shop that i want to find.

 HARAJUKU KIDDYLAND!
its like a huge 5 storey high shop that sells all sorts of cartoon toys.

B1- Snoopy Land
Lvl 1- Marvel, Capcom +misc
Lvl 2- Mario, Transformer, Lego etc
Lvl 3- Barbie, Bylthe Dolls etc
Lvl 4- hello kitty, My melody and rilakkuma

going up the stairs with loads of cute pictures painted

 keep going, keep going!

 huge kitty too!

 *blurry pic*
thats the only photo i took of the whole area and it has to come out blurry. -_-
a whole lot of Rilakkumas!

 so cute leh.

cui face with no makeup as i had to rush back to prepare for work in a few hrs time.
and it was SO SUPER hot outside, the hair in a mess, body perspiring and sticky. :(

colleague threw me that little plastic basket and said : jasmine, i think u will need that.
LOL.
in the end she bought more stuff than i did.

silently screaming : bring me home! bring me home!

 awwwwwwwwwww......

useless dust collecting miniatures of cakes and stuff with Rilakkuma on it, but cute nonetheless!

too much stuff to choose from.
and is not cheap lor.

 going for a shower!

 socks also so cute.

Hello Kitty in traditional Japanese kimono

 didnt buy any of these.
i should had. :(
now that i look at the photos again, they look so pretty and its a form of souvenir right?!

my favourite version of hello kitty is the one on the right, with the bunny hat!
i have like. 2 mid size HK doll in that version. one pink and one purple.
endless keychains/hp charms in that version of HK too.

 KiddyLand = my HappyLand!

I LOVE HELLO KITTY no matter what other people says!

 StarWars chopsticks.
like a cool.

 HARAJUKU!
didnt get to meet any cosplay/goth/lolita dressers as it was too early.
i wish i did though, it will be so interesting.

back to Shinjuku, officially my favourite ramen in the entire world for now:

 Ichiran Ramen.
this is what i see when i sit at the individual seating stall.
literally u face a wall with a little curtain, and all the food will be served from behind the little curtain.

selecting the different perferences for my ramen.
firmness for the noodle, richness n spicyness of the soup etc.

the bus ticket looking paper on the right is my order.
u have to order from a vending machine with loads of buttons.
for eg, if u like to have an egg, press the egg button, and a ticket will drop out.

so that day, i had Ramen + egg + extra portion of noodles

so hungry leh.

what i meant by individual stall seating.

 AHHH my ramen.
so delicious.
now im drooling and typing away.
wish i can have it in sg!

rubbish that i bought in like......4 hrs.
Daiso, KiddyLand, 7-11, Fancl.

so many things to buy, too little time, need more money.

Tokyo, i will be back!

window of the soul

EYES.

EYES are really important, and with some makeup and fake eyelashes, you can change your look in an instant!

for me, i like to dress up my eyes. eye liners are a must when dolling up.

when dolling up,
i can forgo foundation (always refuse to put foundation because i think its really tedious and heavy),
i can forgo blusher (in weather like singapore, there's no need for much use of blusher cos its hot enough and there's always a natural blush),
i can forgo eyebrow pencil (actually i dont draw my eyebrows because i think i have alot of eyebrow)
i can forgo lipstick/lip gloss (use that only at work)...

but eyeliners are a must!!
they make your eyes look bigger and alive, dont you think so?

now, my eyelashes collection!

i have 10 different boxes (from taiwan) and some assorted individual pairs.

a bigger photo of the individual designs.
i love NO.1 because of its volume, plus it looks natural!
NO.2  is pretty similar to NO.1, just a little less volume and of the same length.
NO.3 is REALLY dramatic. too dramatic actually. only good for dinners or galas.
NO.4 is good in length, and quite sparse. so its good for going out or shopping.
NO.5 is currently v popular in Taiwan, as it has a transparent stem, making it really natural looking.
NO.6 is really good for work! thick and black, criss crossed, and it looks dramatic enough with all the heavy work makeup. if u look closely it is actually double layered. however as the stem is thick too, it can be a little uncomfortable.
NO.7 is similar to NO.6, just that it is single layer and thinner.
NO.8 is too natural. as good as wearing nth actually.
NO.9 goes gradually longer from end to end. i find that the longest end is too long, i feel like a camel when i wear that. *blink blink*
NO.10 is from London, very cheap, very intense, short long short long hair makes it natural to wear.

i chose NO.1 for going out that day.
straight with a little curl up at the end, thick and with volume.

 without the eyelashes.
curled the ends of my hair inwards too.

my eyeliner.
i like to wing my eyeliner at the end so that my eyes look bigger. i think.

 top: Canmake Liquid Eyeliner
bottom outer rim: Bobbi Brown black gel eyeliner
bottom inner rim: Majolica Majorca eyeshadow in white
trimmed the eyelashes to appropriate length.
and the glue that i use.

 eyelash glue: on!
 with the eyelashes on.
clearer and BIGGER view. looks natural?

 both eyes done.
i know my hair is really curly at the top. my naturally curly hair has been growing and i haven't decided to touch up yet.
tedious procedure.

length of the eyelash.

so thats how i look when i close my eyes.

outfit of the day

my H&M heels. super comfy too.

 thats it! bbye! :D

my lucky stars

had the opportunity to sit down during work today.

it was a night shift, so most people were sleeping, thus we had alot of free time on hand.. about 4 hours of sitting around, having nothing much to do except drink some tea, do some walk abouts, chit chat, and prepare for breakfast service.
relatively easy shift, just had to overcome the ZZZ monster that was attacking all of us.

i took the chance to sit by an empty window seat, looking out at the sky, and this was what i saw:

imagine the white dots are stars.
LOADS AND LOADS AND LOADS AND LOADS of sparkling stars!

the sky was pitch black, really clear cos we were above the clouds, and the stars seemed so near.
it feels as if i could easy touch one of them, if i could reach out of the window!
the view was amazing, extraordinary, and a moment which i wished i could capture and keep it with me forever.

some were brighter, some were twinkling (well, all were twinkling i supposed but some of them so tiny i couldnt see really clearly), some were bigger, some smaller...

sometimes i wish my eyes could be like a camera, capturing what i see, and be able to transfer the photos to the hard disk and share with everyone else.

i was just thinking if i would see a shooting star, since there were so many stars around, when i saw sth falling..
i wasnt sure what it was, maybe my eyes were playing a trick on me?

but then i saw it again.

and again.

and again.

I SAW A TOTAL OF 4 SHOOTING STARS!!!!
in a mere... 15 mins of me sitting down near the window!

so lucky!

of course, i quickly made some wishes. hehehe.
myths or superstitions...
rather believe than to forgo the chances, isnt it?

ridiculous yet funny

being in the so-called top and admired company, i frequently get requests from passengers which are really ridiculous, yet funny and amusing.  all because they pay a higher price to be with us, they think that we supply everything that they want to have.

seriously, this picture shows it all (from 9gag):

most often than not, i will always hear colleagues saying: the pax at seat XXX asked for blah blah blah. he think we 7-11 meh?! (admit, im guilty of this too)

it is really common sense to know that we have a limited amount of stuff that we carry in the air, yet some people expect us to product something that is out of the ordinary.

for eg:

1) today is my son's bday, dont you guys have a cake or sth?
well, yes we do but it is only if its booked in advance, and catered to us.
(in my heart: how u expect me to produce or bake a cake for your son. there is still no cake no matter how much you grumble, demand, kick a huge fuss or complain.)

2) huh? only chocolate ice cream? do you have cookies and cream or coffee flavour?
no, sorry, only chocolate.
(in my heart: if you want cookies and cream later on when we reach i can buy one for u from 7-11. *mega roll eyes*)

3) im feeling very unwell. i want to upgrade to business.
no, upgrades are strictly not allowed.
but other XXX company allows me to upgrade.
sorry, it is not in our company policy to upgrade anyone.
(in my heart: then go take the other company la.)

anw! the most amusing thing happened to me on my flight yesterday.

this is the ultimate!

passenger said: i will like to order some fast food. pizza, chicken wings or burger is fine.

0_o??????
simi dai ji?!

since when got pizza/chickenwings/burgers that can be ordered?

and also, today i got an order for juice.
so i asked, what kind of juice sir? i have apple, orange, tomato or pineapple.
the reply?
" TROPICAL JUICE"

simi dai ji?!

what is tropical juice??
hahaha! sometimes i get orders like guava juice, mango juice, strawberry juice, pear juice.. TROPICAL juice is a first!

i wonder where the pax heard that from?

Why we shout in anger?

A story i took from this blog entry which my bff showed me:

__________________________________________

A Hindu saint who was visiting river Ganges to take bath found a group of family members on the banks, shouting in anger at each other. He turned to his disciples smiled and asked.

'Why do people shout in anger shout at each other?'

Disciples thought for a while, one of them said, 'Because we lose our calm, we shout.'

'But, why should you shout when the other person is just next to you? You can as well tell him what you have to say in a soft manner.' asked the saint

Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the other disciples.

Finally the saint explained,
'When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other to cover that great distance.

What happens when two people fall in love? They don't shout at each other but talk softly, Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is either non-existent or very small...'

The saint continued, 'When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other and that's all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.'

He looked at his disciples and said.
'So when you argue do not let your hearts get distant, Do not say words that distance each other more, Or else there will come a day when the distance is so great that you will not find the path to return.'

too lazy

i confess.
im too lazy.
too lazy to blog, too lazy to even take my camera out for pictures.

not even when it was my first trip to New York last week.
:(
i've lost the passion in me.
or maybe, well.. im just too lazy.

i sometimes dont remember having a blog.
i used to check my blog page everyday, think of how to create an interesting entry, or see if anyone talked to me on the Cbox.
now like one year not even 5 chats.

MY BLOG IS DYING!

anyway.
just a few random and interesting photos which i took when i was travelling around these months:

aiyo, dont know why this photo turned out so tiny, when i tried to enlarge it it turned super blurry.
anyway, from New York, a hot pink mini cooper limousine?!
super cool isnt it!
looks really cute too.

from Osaka, an oval shaped watermelon, a freaky pyramid shaped watermelon, and a squarish watermelon, side by side.
the pyramid one costs 84,000 Jap Yen.
100 Jap Yen is around SGD$1.60.
so, yes, the watermelon costs over a thousand bucks SGD.
MAD OR WHAT?!

Busker from Frankfurt.
he looks like he is floating, but in reality he's actually sitting on a metal seat.
the arm by the pole is fake, and below that carpet is actually a huge base to balance the whole seat.
well, go figure, its quite simple.

Following are my shopping spree times when im overseas.
went to the factory outlet in NYC but i forgot to take photos of the stuff i bought.
spent like 500 usd there, but only 25bucks are spent on myself.
the rest are for all the lucky people out there.
poof.

Random knick and knacks from Osaka.
bought 2 huge boxes of GreenTea Kitkat + Sakura Kitkat from the airport too.
:D

my cup noodle stash from Taipei.
om nom noms.
comfort food for when im overseas.
hot and something soupy is what i need sometimes.

and some months ago, WOC from London.
my number 4.
WHEE!
(Chants: i want more! i want more!)

enthusiastically went for a night run 2 days after i bought the pair of shoes.

there was a whole commotion that rose when i uploaded this photo on FB.
many of my friends and the bf's friends were totally shocked when they saw this pic.
