Sharon's wedding (4th nov)

attended yet another wedding dinner yesterday at the Marriot Hotel.
it was my cousin's (i know, i have a great number of them) wedding.

  the cute wedding car.

CONGRATS TO ALVIN AND SHARON!

 bridesmaid VS brothers

there were 13 of us, in blue and pink!
can u see me? hehehehe

i woke up at 4.15am to prepare for the big day!
had fun torturing the 10 brothers and and groom.

it was an epic moment when all their angbaos were snatched by us.
literally grab and run.

one of the brothers had the 'real' angbao which contained $1000 in his chest pocket, and my cousin Ivy just snatched it away.
the groom panicked and exclaimed at his brother: HOW! I NO MORE ANGBAO LIAO!!! WHY U KEEP IN YOUR CHEST POCKET !!!

we were more than happy though.
1000$ into our bridesmaid fund!
hahahahaha.

arriving at Marriot after the morning ceremony.

paid for makeup and hairdo to be done at the hotel, but sad to say, the hair was so badly done, i had to take it off and tie it on my own.
i merely wanted a volumised 'hump' on my head, and a high ponytail with a little curl at the end of the hair.
FAILED MAXIMUM
it was so bad that i didnt take a photo of it.
SO SO SO BAD
the little curl at the end was like a hay and that lady curled my whole pony tail into several locks of hair. wtf.

so, i tied my work hairdo and my cousins all exclaimed: YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE. THIS IS MUCH BETTER!

OOTD (night) was bought from Far East, a day before the wedding.
super last minute, and i thought i couldnt get any nice dresses at all.
hehe.
the shoes lagi best, bought a few hours before the dinner started.

(initially i thought i had a pair of shoes at home which i could match with the dress, but meh, the shoes totally didnt match the dress at all, so i had to rush to get the shoes on the actual day.)

luckily it was in town and near to Far East, so i popped by when i reached the hotel.

handful of the bridesmaid of the day, all prepared for the dinner!

mummy, dad and i at the photobooth station

boyfie and i !

ah por and I

mummy and I (and a peek of my super tall gold heels.)

at the yum seng ceremony on the stage.
you cant see me but i was there.
this photo is so well taken and edited by my cousin's (another one) hubby.
Jayden (my cousin's, yet another one, cheeky son!)

mad adults with all their drinks.

in this family, the children stop their parents from over drinking, not vice versa.
the parents are much more havoc and hiong at drinking, compared to the younger generation!

all my cousins and i were like: aiyo, dunno who are those people. not my parents ah!

 1st and 3rd generation.
my other 2 cousins who are married with kids.

in this photo, there are only 3 of us who are not married nor have kids yet.
the rest are all married with kids!!!
when i grow up i wanna be like them, got kids liao still so pretty and slim!

i am looking forward to attending yet another wedding dinner, which belongs to my bestie Suelin on 18th nov.
till then, TATA!

busy

been busy during my offdays nowadays.. not with shopping, but with exploring new baking and cooking recipes, as well as making crafts.

sometime ago, i tried baking the rainbow cupcake which looked so pretty from the photos i saw off the internet.

initially i wanted to do something like that:

but that would mean that i have to bake the layers one by one, then stacking them on top of each other. which means it will take a lot of time and effort. and i dont have the patience i think.

  nah... too much effort.

thus, i decided to just pour the coloured batter into a cupcake paper, starting from the middle.
every new colour will start from the middle of the previous colour, so it turned out like this:

the interior of the cupcake after it is baked.
isnt the colours pretty?

this way i save loads of time and effort, and the colours are so vibrant.
each cupcake is different so the surprise factor is there as well.

made some tinier ones as well.
these had less colour in each cupcake, still! they look so adorable and happy-to-look-at!

_______________

tried my hands on lava molten cake as well..
erm. failed.
because it wasnt 'wet' enough on the inside.
i felt that the chocolate did not seem to flow out as much as i would like them to.
however i managed to cheat my way around, and got the melted chocolate interior...

how?

i stuck a whole solid piece of chocolate inside the cake, and baked it a little further.
as such the chocolate melted and there!
i had the flowy lava effect.
haha!

(no photos though. the cake was just brown and dark and ugly looking)

_______________

 tried baking soft cookies too.
what i had in mind was like the ones that Subway has.
chewy in the middle and crispy on the outside?

well. .. . i failed too.
the cookies' texture felt more like sponge cakes..
other wise those that i baked slightly longer just tasted like normal crunchy cookies.
i need to figure where i did wrong.
:(

_______________

dishes that i have tried cooking so far:

herbal chicken, mapo tofu, honey chicken wings, portobello mushrooms with ham, claypot chicken rice.

i think im happiest with the turnout of the herbal chicken.
i need to learn more recipe and try to cook more!

my xmas cards are almost ready.
few days ago i helped to make a 'Promise Board' for my cousin's upcoming wedding.
