i should decide.

since a few months ago i thought i should think about whether i would be staying on in this job for long.

pros of job:

good money.  

i doubt even if i hold a degree now and apply for other jobs, i will be able to get this amount of salary. no, not even in the next 5 years. 

good travel. 

i've went to many many many places which i never dreamt of going. if i didnt enter this job i would not have considered going Istanbul, Dubai, India.. 

good off days. 

i work for a range of between 4 to 15 hrs and i get a day or 2 rest after that. in that sense in a week i get more off days then any other job. plus my off days really mean off days, n0t having to worry about the piling documents or having any deadlines to meet.

good shopping opportunities.

certain brands and stuff are cheaper than that in Singapore. ok not certain, practically most stuff are cheaper than that in Singapore. (think atas)

good chance of saving up.

if i dont buy anything that is not necessary, its easy to save money in this job. esp if all the flights i get is india, dubai etc...

Cons of job:

Standbys.

oh god i freaking ducking hate standbys. 'nuff said.

being overseas.

sometimes its really lonely to be in the room, with no one to talk to. and missing out events like friends' bday parties, weddings, anniversaries, special holidays.. what if i'm married. i will have no time for my partner. and children. 

no prospect.

many ppl have asked, "are u staying for long?", "how long can u work in this line?", "do u enjoy flying?". many have said, "this job canot work for long one la." true enough. it take about 7 years and above to promote to a higher rank. can u imagine? my salary being stagnant and my friends' salary will increase year after year. one day, they will be getting what i get, and more.

not good for health.

i've heard alot of injuries that people got during flights. like during turbulence, crew fly and land on arms of seats, flask flies and hit on their heads, toes, arms. slip disc is a common injury due to having carry heavy luggages and closing heavy compartments. plus the air is dry. plus its bad for ladies due to the womb. sth to do with womb dropping? or womb shifting position cos of the altitude and pressure. sth like that.

should i go back to studying? 

i am thinking of NIE teaching again. thats another of my interest. 

but... i would probably be a teacher for the rest of my life after that.

if i dont get a degree in teaching.. then what else can i do?

BKK MADDNESS

i'm totally mad about Bangkok.

1) after much of trying (and failing) to change flights and all, THEY ROSTERED ME for BKK nightstop! so. i'm going to BKK on 30th March. which is. erh. 4 days from now.

and from there, i am going to meet my thai friends from lion dance and eat supper. hohoho. talk till the cows come home and go back to SIN on 31st early morning.

2) and after looking for ppl to go BKK holiday with me, i found Joeis, Joeis bf, and Suelin to go holiday with me! tentatively its 02 May to 05 May. =D [bf, are u going?] i is specially take no pay leave lor. and i knew a lot of ppl going to BKK during this period too. is BKK PERIOD. lols.

3) and June 18 to 21 is going to BKK again with lion dance troupe. =D wheeeeeeeee. finally we are going holiday together leh ah yan! is love one. hahaha. yay.

4) and Oct 6 to 9 is already take leave to go holiday with Carol roll roll and Irwin dumbass. is actually plan to go BKK but i think we go TPE better. 

can? roll roll we go TPE la.... hao ma hao ma? hahaha. 

dont go BKK liao la. =X

watched this with bf and 6 other strangers in Jubilee Cinema yesterday. yes. the whole theatre only had 8 audiences.
is touching one. touching until i cried when i watch this show. =.= how dumb.

my paris trip.

PARIS


clockwise: Mel, Geradine, Selvam, Me. my lovely companion for 2 days in Paris.
i love Paris so much, i think i am going there at the end of the year for holidays.
with my concession ticket, of cos.
who want to go with me? must ownself pay la. i is not print money one.
[btw, the 'I heart Paris' word is a photo of my newly bought tshirt from a cheapo popo souvenir shop.]

on touchdown day, we slpt a little, and we went all out for sightseeing. i think we visited 4 or 5 tourist attractions in a day, taking the train here and there, stopping by to take photos.

1st stop, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart.



equiped with a map, the 4 of us figured our way through the multiple metro line and with Selvam as our tour guide, and with Geraldine's vague memories of her previous trip, all went well and we were super efficient in getting to our destinations.


inside is canot take picture, but i still took. the Basilica of the Sacred Heart is actually a roman catholic basilica dedicated to Jesus i think.


the black and whites.
is chio. i dont know why but i have the tendency to take black and white photos in European countries. must be the architectures.

2nd stop, Moulin Rouge.

the ever so famous and well known Moulin Rouge.
we walked there from Sacred Heart, took photos, and left.
next time got chance i is wan to go watch the musical.

3rd stop, the Pantheon.

before going to the Pantheon we stopped by a park. and we concluded that the people there likes to do nth and sit at the park to pass time.
there were really alot of people idling at the park can. see the 2nd and 3rd photo on the top row. the people were staring at a pond with a few ducks. or reading. or talking. there were no concerts, no events but people just sat there and enjoy the breeze and sun.


Geraldine and I persuaded Mel and Selvam to take the jumping photo but they die die also dont want. say we old fashion and they have enough of jumping photos. ee. so unfriendly.
the Pantheon is a church where many of France's 'you ming you lian's men and women are buried. we paid like 5 euros [$10 SGD] to go in and see tombs and feel the eerie-ness.


i really love the huge and tall pillars of the site.
very grand, very stable, very elegant.

eerie, hollow, and silent.
they have like rows of "cave" like tunnels with alot of tombs together in a "cave". and outside the "cave" will be the names of the people who were buried inside.
i is dont know them and they is dont know me too.


inside is no photo taking too, but i see many ppl taking photos like nobody's business so i follow too.
the 1st photo on the bottom row shows a golden ball. the ball is suspended from the very high ceiling and it swings left and right constantly. below the ball is a base with numbers on it, and the swinging of the ball tells the time very precisely.
i dont know how it works, but ya. it really works.

4th stop, Notre Dame.

Notre Dame is very chio.
rmb i had to do a presentation of this when i was still in poly, during my french class. [ yes, i took up french for my dont-know-what-lesson-is-that-called-already class. but now i is canot speak a damn thing abt it alrdy.] never would i imagine myself being able to see the real thing a few years later.


chio chio chio. we were just in time to hear the bells chime. so yue er, and the chimes gave me a very serene feeling.


i kept telling Selvam he looks like a bangladeshie and he is very pissed at me. =x i said that becos he poses like one in all his photos.


the interior. the coloured glass thing is very chio. although my camera canot capture a very good quality of that, but it is chio enough i think.

i dont know y the planes like to make streaks of white lines in the sky. like tic tac toe.


when this cute lil boy was walking behind Geraldine, i shouted to her "Geraldine!! ni hou mian you jiang si leh!"
she turned around and jumped at the sight of him.
lols....

5th stop. the Effiel Tower!!! much loves.

the magnificant iron tower.


must take more photos. is chio one.
esp at night. camwhore like dont know what although it is just an iron tower. but its really really cool. and romantic. and impressive. [ and AQX, now i know why last time when u came back from Germany u kept talking abt the Effiel tower liao. and still buy the ugly small Effiel tower keychains. BECAUSE ITS DAMN ROMANTIC. ok. BTW, i also bought the keychains although last time i think they are v useless.]

and thats the end of day 1, ending with a nice dinner near the Effiel Tower.
i had a very bad foot ache at the end, but it was just all too worth while.

day 2 was purely spent on shopping.


and taking a photo while passing by Arc de Triompe.
and more shopping.

spent about 1300 euros in the 4 storey LV building but sad to say, none of those items belong to me. which is good because i didnt anyhow waste money.


Mel and I took a train to the outskirts of Paris because we wanted to go to the outlets. and at the outlets i bought the Longchamp bags which are cheaper compared to boutique prices. Angel msned me abt the directions and after an hr of train ride, we finally reached! [Angel , the shopping centre that u ask me to walk to the end is big one lor. =.= ]


my buys. only the I heart Paris shirt and the khaki coloured Longchamp bag is mine.
[and ya, Gia, the brown Longchamp bag is your Bday present. lol. is no need to surprise u liao because i already told u liao. is no blue colour so i bought the brown one. can hor?]

PARIS

here i am in paris, sharing room with Geraldine whom i've shared room with on 2 other different occasions. once in Dubai, once in Manila.

i think i dont mind staying here for another day or 2.. but im flying back again tomorrow already. is fast.
spent the whole day ytd out walking with a sore foot because i act hiao, wore my boots with heels to go sightseeing . orbiquak me walked abt 9 hrs in those killer boots. act one hiao only because i wanted to look chio in the photos. hahaha.

today i meowed at a cat again.

i saw a stray cat at Chinatown, and out of a habit, i meowed at it.

it stared at me for a lil while, and started to meow back at me.
i meowed back.
and the cat catwalked towards my feet and starting brushing its back against my ankles.
i felt warmth and love and i kinda like the feeling of that. =)
then the cat looked up at me for a while and it continued to circle around my foot, brushing its body against me.

so very sweet.
i think i like cats.

and so i did.

once i touched down on sun, mum and dad brought me to eat bak tuk teh! haha. and guess what, i changed out of my uniform and into civilian clothings in the CAR. hahahahaha! i is best already.

and baby Yexiang is so cute. but he slept throughout HIS party. how can. next time i also like that. u all come my party den i wear nice nice and continue sleeping. hoho.
